Red chilli futures traded low on NCDEX as speculators booked profits after recent gains. Sluggish export demand and weak demand in the domestic market following improved rain in the producing belts led to the decline in prices.
The contract for September delivery was trading at Rs 4,616.00, down by 0.73% or Rs 34.00 from its previous closing of Rs 4,650.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 925 lots.
The contract for October delivery was trading at Rs 5,272.00, down by 0.86% or Rs 46.00 from its previous closing of Rs 5,318.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 8870 lots on NCDEX.
