Copper Gains More Than 1 Percent On Hopes Of Monetary Easing By Fed (20-Jun-2012)
Copper jumped more than 1 percent on Tuesday, as investors eyed on further monetary easing by Federal Reserve after a series of disappointing economic data in recent weeks. The red metal also gained as dollar fizzled out against euro, despite concerns about persisting euro crisis.
Copper futures for July delivery ended up 3.80 cents at $3.4335 per lb, after dealing from $3.3730 to $3.4395on the Comex metals division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper for three-month delivery on the London Metal Exchange ended up with $99 to end at $7,609 a tonne.
