Copper prices in London market inched up on Thursday, after previous day's dips, while the red metal dipped in US market, as investors went wary ahead of Friday's second-quarter growth figures from red metal's top consumer China and as the U.S. Federal Reserve dampened hopes for further stimulus measures in the short-term.

Copper futures for September delivery shed 3.25 cents to settle at $3.4150 per lb, after dealing between $3.3845 and $3.4390, on the Comex metals division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper for three-month delivery on the London Metal Exchange ended up by $16 at $7,555 a metric ton.
